The reaction temperature is 150-200 ºC. The reaction pressure is 1.96~3.92 MPa, and the excess methanol is about 15%. The reaction product not only contains ethylene glycol monomethyl ether generated by the main reaction, but also diethylene glycol methyl ether and triethylene glycol methyl ether generated by the side reaction, as well as excess methanol.
The four main components are separated by an alcohol recovery tower and three vacuum distillation towers, and the methanol obtained is recycled to obtain products such as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol methyl ether, and triethylene glycol methyl ether.
